Changing

So life here is really speeding by. I am becoming more familiar with the language and picking up words more easy. School is boring but speeds my time here. My class mates are better to me than before and I have a really great Czech friend named Katka who coincidently goes to TURKEY every summer to work, speaking of Turkey... isn't that where LYDIA is exchanging?!?! Haha. So it's really cool and she taught me a few Turkish words.
Language here is so interesting to see. Seeing only that 10 million people in the world speak Czech it is essential for kids to at least know English or German. There is also a French Grammar school where they speak French for all of school. But it is also a disadvantage because they don't learn as much as they would have if they were learning it in their native language.
I find it so amazing to be learning such a useless language. It is definitely one of the more prettier languages I have heard, and not to mention you feel special for learning one of the top 5 hardest languages in the World! Haha.
This weekend I am going to Prague for Rotary and we're going to go shopping. So get ready for presents!!! Then on the 21st of December our Rotary club in Pisek is taking us to Linz, Austria! To one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe. MORE SHOPPING!?!?! Horray! I am looking forward to Christmas!
Baraboo got alot of snow... quite jealous. But hopefully we'll be getting some snow soon too. This yucky rain is going to get punched (if it can) by me. I am so sick of rain. But I like rain when I sleep.
Speaking of sleep.... I would like some.
So anyways... I received a package from my family today. I'd like to say thank you... and I am still crying. It's too wonderful. Everything in it. And the wrapped Christmas gifts.. you shouldn't've YOU SHOULD HAVE!!! AND YOU DID!! It's great. Christmas is going to be really hard without you... but I'm in your heart. That card made me start crying DARNIT! So all-in-all it was already Christmas here in Pisek for me!!! Haha. I haven't opened up the presents yet.
We recently celebrated St. Nicolas day and there was a large festival in the main square where devils and st nick were dressed up and put on a show for the little ones. I got a bunch of candy from my host mom on the window ledge. It was interesting and I hope to bring St. Nicolas day back to my home! At my school some of my class mates dressed up as st. nick and the devils and rubbed ash all over my face and told me I had to sing in front of the class. SO I pulled an ole Jingle Bells and dashing through the snow. haha. It's something you don't have to be good at singing to sing it. And being me... as I am TOTALLY not shy anymore I sing it really loud and obnoxiously. Such an April thing. Haha
They put up a very large Christmas tree in the main square and they put up one in Prague too. Everything is lighting up with AWE! And I am appreciating everything more and more as each day passes. I love everything I have and couldn't thank anyone specifically because everyone is just too wonderful. I love you family and friends!
I switch host families soon and I am not looking forward to it, but I am at the same time. It will be interesting for some change in life. But I already have had so much change ;)
So I have not much more to write about and am sadly becoming quite lazy because I'm writing so many letters and postcards! AH!!! Christmas time is so wonderful though! Take care and thanks for reading! Keep it up~!

Love,
April Ann
